A Success Habit for Entrepreneurs by Lamar van dusen

Entrepreneurs simply don't understand the concept. Reading is among the most successful habits of entrepreneurs.

Lamar Van Dusen

I am a huge reader. Call me Lamar Van Dusen but I love holding the book in my hands to feel the page, flip the pages, draw out the most important points and write sticky notes as I read. It's a great enjoyable experience for me.

With the long weekend that we have in summer and the joy being able to sit on my front porch I usually have a list of books I would like to read in the coming months. This summer, however, I chose to visit my library and read some of my old favorites as well as some brand new ones in my collection that I hadn't even touched.

While working in the business world, I was a subscriber to the 'Executive Summaries It was an online service that gave an overview of new books on leadership. There were times when I would just go through that report instead of reading a entire book.

Take a look at this Executive Summary, as I present some of my favorite quotes, and the most important take-aways ideas I've applied to my business. This has helped me increase the size of ME and also to expand my business, and I'm sure that it will assist you too.

Here are some books that I would recommend:

  1. "Create Distinction" - by Scott McKain - I had the privilege of being taught by Scott during the Hell Yeah Star program (led by Suzanne Evans and Larry Winget) One aspect I love about the book of Scott McKain is the fact that he has included an Executive Summary at the conclusion of each chapter! Isn't that cool? The 4 cornerstones that distinguish comprise Clarity, Creativity, Communication and Customer Experience. What I loved the most was the tale he recounts on page 159 of Ann Cooper who is 106 years old! Take the time to read the book. You will gain lots! (I've recently read it for the second first time... there's so much amazing content.)
  2. There is a lot of information that is a lot to study and apply - and a small size of print, LOL! On page 23, he walks you through the best method to read the book. They are fantastic suggestions! Buy it now to watch the sales increase as well.
  3. "One Thousand Gifts" "One Thousand Gifts"by Ann Voskamp - this was an offer from my friend and colleague Cathy Wagner. I read through the book when I first received it, and took it out over the weekend as I was sure the contents were exactly what I required. Chapter 10'Empty To Fill' is a profound chapter - appropriate for me to go through and it might inspire you too. Check it out .
  4. "Simplify" Simplify" written by Bill Hybels. It is the book we discussed during the Bible Home Group this past winter. There are many excellent ideas in this book - and I'm constantly trying to simplify my daily life... in order to live present in the right now... because the majority people are moving in the fast lane of life. I'm not someone who regrets the fact that "I was too busy". This book is with easy, simple ways to eliminate the clutter out of your world, and more. Read this book, implement the advice one step at each time and observe the difference. (and you're welcome!)
  5. "Prosperity Pie - How to Relax About Money and Everything Else! "by SARKby SARK A wonderful book I was gifted by Suzanne my coach. SARK is a mentor for the mastermind group I am participating in this year. her "down-to-earth" essential wisdom is life-changing. I am awestruck by this book due to the way the cover feels (yes that's my word! ) as well as the color and layout of the text as well as the clarity of the details. Page 78 was the one that me - "There is no control, and perfectionism will be a snob!' (what?) Purchase a copy and experience each powerful and inspiring message.

AND THEN THERE IS 'THE' BOOK FOR YOUR SUMMER READING PLEASURE... WHICH ALSO CONTAINS CONTENT TO HELP YOU GROW YOUR BUSINESS AND LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE-

"Stop Compromising and Make More Money!" This book is a personal account of... the way I divorced from my wife of 22 years with little or no money, moved across the country at 55 and had no clientele, no business or contacts and recommenced my journey. Over the last few years, I've created half a million dollars of business and speaking business, traveled the globe in an air-conditioned private jet every year, visiting 10 countries every time, enlisted and kept an incredible team, and have been guided by world-class professionals.

How to Grow Your Business to the Next Level?

The most frequently encountered and most difficult problem Lamar Van Dusen face is their inability to scale their company beyond a certain point.

Here are some short tips you could concentrate on for your next visit.

1. Rely on others to trust:

Entrepreneurs begin their journey by themselves, in the beginning that all tasks by force must be carried out by them. However, this practice of being superman-like clings to their character even after they've hired a few employees. Entrepreneurs have a hard time coming to believe that anyone could do their work better than they do. They believe that they are the most skilled and only ones to accomplish any task within the business with the highest level of accuracy. This is not true!

You can't be a master in everything, and if you think you are, then you're headed for a dark and bleak future, my friend. Make smart hires and trust other employees to fulfill the tasks handed to them by themselves. You are certainly able to be their mentor, but don't work in the office all night, while your employees only make a difference to the decor of your office.

2. Work on your niche:

In today's highly competitive marketplace in which everyone looks alike and provides the same features, and where your price is more expensive than your value it is vital to distinguish yourself from the rest. It is essential to keep understanding how you can differentiate yourself from the rest with regards to the positioning of your product the target market, your product's positioning and the area of your product's specialization are relevant. If you provide a service and you are a seller, you have to combat the price battle. If you've worked to create something distinctive and meets an unmet or unsatisfied requirement of the target audience, Then you've hit gold! Be sure to offer something that nobody else is able to offer or add specific services that you can offer to a product to make people want to purchase from you because of the distinctive experience that your service can provide.

3. Concentrate on revenue generation

Entrepreneurs should eliminate any activities that consume their time, but don't provide a revenue boost. They should delegate all activities that are not revenue-generating to team members. They should direct their energy, time, and resources to only those tasks that directly translate in commercial profit.

Employ people to handle mundane paperwork, bank routines, as well as the logistical challenges. It is essential to concentrate on connecting with organizations, people and customers with the potential to propel your business to the next step.

4. Explore:

Entrepreneurs are constantly exploring uncharted territory. They should always be looking for the latest trend. They should be aware of and study global and market trends and developments. They must train and educate themselves on the competencies needed to become an entrepreneur who is successful. They need to learn about and connect with successful business people. They need to risk their lives and go out and try things that cause them to be scared and change their zone. The challenge is to break the rules. only way to bring your business into the future.
